About
As a candidate for District Attorney, I would like to introduce myself and my family. I am Harold D. McLendon, born and raised in Laurens County, Georgia. Most of my life has been lived here and I chose my hometown to return to and practice law. My parents, Warren and Opal McLendon, taught me the value of honor, commitment to God and family, and the importance and rewards of hard work. In 1961, my father became the first black to serve as Deputy Sheriff. He was later promoted to investigator and remained with the Laurens County Sheriff Department until 1980. It is my honor to follow in the footsteps of my father who wore a coat of many colors. He was a mentor, a leader (both civically and politically), a motivator, and an entrepreneur. Being the epitome of what a friend and father should be, he remembered the important things in life, always making time to be faithful to God and family. He was committed to serving his community.
